I've taken a lot of psych classes before and we've seen videos of people who suffer from it. The best way to get rid of a phobia depends on the person. There's this thing called "flooding", where it just basically helps you overcome your fear by exposing it to you until you learn that it's nothing to be scared of. Flooding takes anxiety to the highest level, so the only way the feeling can go from there is down. There's also "counter-conditioning". In this method, you are taught a NEW RESPONSE to the insects you're scared of. I believe you could also turn to hypnosis.

the only way to get rid of a fear is if you confront it. maybe you can try going to a museum with insects and stand around the butterflies and moths [even is theyre dead ones]. then if you know someone who can catch butterflies or moth...touch one and hold one.

i tried holding a live tarantula...i swear i was going to CRY! but i do feel more comfortable around spiders.

Just face your fear. Butterflies are not harmfull and once you finally see one up close you will see that they are beatiful and unique in there own way. Just like you.

what works for me and is just a suggestion for you is to challenge your fears. I used to have a fear of heights and i would put myself in situations where I absolutly had to overcome my fears...
