In my child development course, our Professor showed us a video about a little girl...I believe in the 60's or 70's, and they called her a wild child I think. This was about four years ago so I don't remember much. I know she was abused from birth, and her parents had her chained to a chair or something. When they found her she didn't know how to talk, or do much else. I was just wondering does anyone remember seeing this? What was the little girl's name? Also, does anyone know if she is still living, and what became of her later development? I know the prognosis wasn't very good.

I recently asked a question on the nationality of Y! answer users. A lot of the respondents responded with their Ethnic background or at least mentioned it. Why? Do you think they misread the question or was something else going on?

(BTW US 31%, Brit 21%, Aliens 10%, Canadians 10%, 28% others. Not very scientific I know.)

I work in a mobile phone store and today every customer that works through the door is making me angry. They don't even have to say anything to annoy me. I'm normally a happy good customer service type of person so why is this happening to me. I'm like so angry I want to smash something.

Would you have a problem with a pre operation transsexual using the ladies toilet? The reason I ask is that a man where I work came in one day as a woman. 'She' had to live as a woman for 1 year before being allowed to have the operation. During this time she wished to use the female toilets, as you would expect. However quite a few of the women in the building objected so in the end she was restricted to using certain ones. Is this right and would you have objected. I couldn't see the problem but as it didn't really affect me I wanted to try and gets a womans perspective. Ladies only please.

Why is that when it comes to prostitution, promiscuouity, etc...men are labeled 'dog's...but the women are seen as 'liberated' and 'sexy'...and it's overlooked...?

Why is that when a woman has a kid out of wed-lock she's considered the victim...but when it's a man it's assumed he only won the custody of the child because he's a man?

Why is that when a man is in his 30's and single, he's scared of commitment , but when it's a woman : she's smart and strong for not compramising for a man?

Why is that when a man is up front about wanting to be in a sexual relationship, he's seen as a 'pig'...but when it's a womman, she's seen a 'strong willed' woman who knows what she wants...

Why is it that when a man wants to be wealthy and live a comfortable life, he's seen as a stereotypical, self-pleasing man, or if career-minded and strong, then he's a chauvinist...but women who do the same are considered 'ambitious', 'modern', and 'in control'?

When will men and women truly be equal?

Or maybe the incomers bring a new vitality, new broad-mindedness, new ideas, creativity, work (don't pinch jobs, create them)

and it doesn't matter about the extra traffic and behaviour from the city folks which is alien to the locals?

Why is that when it comes to prostitution, promiscuouity, etc...women are vilified for it...but the men are still seen as men...and it's overlooked...?

Why is that when a woman has a kid out of wed-lock, it's frowned apon...but when it's a man it's kinda 'sexy' that he's a 'single dad'?

Why is that when a woman is in her 30's and single, she's 'single and lonely' and desperate , but when it's a man : he's an 'eligible bachelor'?

Why is that when a woman is up front about wanting to be in a relationship, she's seen as desperate...but when it's a man, he's seen as a 'real man'...

Why is it that when a woman wants to be wealthy and live a comfortable life, she's seen a gold-digger, or if career-minded and assertive, then she's a b*tch...but men who do the same are considered 'ambitious'?

When will women and men truly be equal?

is there a biological basis or is it learned behavior?
Is is linked to OCD. I have several family members who won't throw anything out (junk mail, newspapers, etc.) and it just piles up and it all over their house...plus I have heard of people who hoard animals too...is there medication or some kind of therapy they can take for it (if they were so inclined) or is it 'not a big deal' as I have been told
