Why is that when it comes to prostitution, promiscuouity, etc...women are vilified for it...but the men are still seen as men...and it's overlooked...?

Why is that when a woman has a kid out of wed-lock, it's frowned apon...but when it's a man it's kinda 'sexy' that he's a 'single dad'?

Why is that when a woman is in her 30's and single, she's 'single and lonely' and desperate , but when it's a man : he's an 'eligible bachelor'?

Why is that when a woman is up front about wanting to be in a relationship, she's seen as desperate...but when it's a man, he's seen as a 'real man'...

Why is it that when a woman wants to be wealthy and live a comfortable life, she's seen a gold-digger, or if career-minded and assertive, then she's a b*tch...but men who do the same are considered 'ambitious'?

When will women and men truly be equal?

Why is it that some women want to label all men with the same tag?
I resent your comments and I've never looked at women this way. I don't have double standards and I'm sure there are lots of other men who don't also.
I think you have a chip on your shoulder, and although I agree that many men are arrogant and Victorian. Not all are.
Hopefully, you will meet someone who will change your mind.
It must be a lonely world when you think everyone is the same, and you don't like that person.

If the middle-elderly guy may have sufficient money the muscle motor vehicle, he ought to flow for it! only be particular that it really is his spouse and by no skill some youthful chick that he drives round in it! a sturdy motor vehicle will very last various years--possibly longer than the marriage that some lady's mum and dad splurge on. it really is worry-free to have a splendidly beautiful wedding ceremony that would not fee the equivalent of a down charge! (Or is this a extra own quandary? Is someone declaring to you, "Daddy, how will you spend all that money on a motor vehicle and scrimp on my wedding ceremony?"? if so, why no longer advise on your daughter that, because the rustic's in a recession, it will be suitable to have a modest wedding ceremony, which skill usually a modest reception, AND placed off the stud motor vehicle for a three hundred and sixty 5 days or so.)

This has been going on for thousands of years. It's nothing new and it will never change. There will always be that divide. Some say that it stems from the first woman sinner (if you believe that stuff) - Eve. Both Adam and Eve ate the apple. Eve gets the crap. Adams only got to bloody toil but Eve, she gets to have the kids, suffer the pain and suffer the wrath of the church for tempting Adam. Many years later women are still viewed differently from men.

That's how you view the world. I don't know where you've been for the last 20 years. But read-Female Chauvinist Pigs: Women and the Rise of Raunch Culture by Ariel Levy.
You'll be enlightened.

Also a lot of men AND women don't want equality.

I haven't seen anyone use the word "patriarchy" yet. We live in a male-dominated world. Men have the power. Men are larger, stronger and more physically intimidating. Men are in control; why would they want to relinquish that?

Consider, too, that women's careers are shaped by their biology. If a woman wants children, she must put her career on hold, and if she defers childbearing until it's too late, she often feels unfulfilled.

And don't forget the "Madonna-whore" dichotomy. Men want access to women they can sleep with, but when it's time to settle down, they want a woman they can trust not to sleep around. Men have been ambivalent about women from the beginning!

In America, at least, women have made great strides since the 60s toward equal rights, at least in the workplace. Given that women still make only 65% of what men make in the same jobs, however, I may not live long enough to see full equality!

Why is it when a girl is into their looks its seen as cool but when a boy does it its seen as gay.
Why is it a girl who hits a boy is tough but a boy who hits a girl is a coward.
Why is it when a man normally has to pay at a meal or he's seen as cheap
Why is it that girls can do loads of activities like dancing, netball and shopping that boys can't do with out seeming girly
Why do mothers always get thought of as being closer to their children when a husbdand fades into the background

But then

Why does a woman have to change he name when shes married
Why are traditions like the Brittish monachy still sexist
Why do women still get acossiated with jobs like secutaries when the men are thought of as managers

Men and Women will always be unequal until people realsie that there isn't that much differance between them. People will never take a step forward as they say its a thing of the past but you're right it's not. It'll be a long time until men and women are equal.

Everyone is biased about at least something. Even we guys suffer from double standards. In my country, there are certain company that states there it's a "female working environment" when they do not want hire males.

If a guy complains that he's molested by a girl, nobody believes him. But when a girl accuses a man of molesting her, he gets arrested even if he didn't lay a finger on her.

It's that way because men are the ones who hold all the real power in this world, and they don't want equality for the sexes. There could be any number of reasons for this, so I won't elaborate.
Not that it's all male chauvinists pigs doing all the work, there are plenty of women out there who are ready to twist the knife and say bad things about other women.
When will there be true equality...I don't think there ever will be.

When woman pays child support like men;
can be charged as a pedophile like men (only two states have such laws);
can be prevented from aborting her responsibility for a child;
when she can be a boss without being a back stabber (as was expressed by 60,000 women in a survey by Cosmopolitan Magazine);
when she can marry a rich man, than divorce him and not get half his money and doesn't get alimony;
or if she is rich, loses half her money and is ordered to pay alimony;
and her net income belongs equally to her husband.
