Television stations were owned by someone or a group/corporation who have their own beliefs (ideology) which naturally they want to propagate. This belief can either be personal or "swayed" by patrons, known or unknown. Likewise, they would want to protect their friend's (patron) interest and in so doing they need to discredit his known enemies (rival.)

It is extremely dangerous to get the ire of anyone in the media lest you will be publicly criticize. It would be helpful if you have the backing of a 'sympathetic' rival news organization who will broadcast your side or an opposing opinion.

Ideological agendas is clearly manifested by the station's mouthpiece - the talk show host.

Daytime TV is written (usually) by morons for morons. Almost ALL TV is ratings based for advertising. Not many people watch in the day as we are working therefore the standard of programming falls.

the only agenda is to make money. it is shaped to do that. In the end selling advertising is all that matters.
