How much does the NHS spend on treating smoking related disease? - And how does this compare to the amount of tax revenue generated by the sale of cigarettes?

Could it be that the over a lifetime, a smoker pays for his treatment, given the amount of tax he pays each time he buys cigarettes?

From my experience in this forum and 'Womens's Studies' courses I took in college, woman's studies seems more and more like a place for man-hating women to vent their anger. I mean, the history they teach is biased. The philosophy they teach is biased. The physiology they teach is biased. The supposed gender-studies are biased. Lastly, the teachers are bias. I don't believe women participate in this subject to learn, but to vent their anger and hatred of men, and to find other women who share the same hatred. It seems like a cult or a training camp for the 'man-haters of tomorrow'. I mean, if men every tried to teach such a biased woman-hating course, they would never hear the end of it! I mean, is it just me, or is this just a 'spite-men' course?

A few months a go I met a really nice guy, a plutonic friendship, and introduced him to my friends. All of a sudden I realise that I don't actually trust him one little bit - I have discovered that he tells big lie's that have caused a few problems for people - I feel vary wary and dont know what to do, he seems to have insinuated himself amongst my friends and is very subtely causing problems.
How would you react in a situation like this - tell people about your fears, or keep them to yourself and just wait to see what happens?

Hi, I said a few words of encouragement to a guy. I wonder if I over did it because his reaction was to thank me for my kindness. I told him he was attractive, although he apparently doesn't think so. I was NOT being kind to him. I was telling the truth, but why did he react in that way? I'm confused. What do you think of such a reaction? Do you think he was being shy about my compliment? Thanks a lot for sharing.
