Being an insider in the field, I'm coming to terms with the fact that the behavioral sciences don't understand the very problems they're attempting to resolve...They only think they understand.

I have a manager who seems real peeved all the time. He doesn't physically look pissed, but with everything he does he seems like a mad man. Almost like a serial killer, he looks like one too. Hes always stepping on my toes in every single thing i do. He never has anything nice to say about my work (when everyone else appericates) but he does this to EVERYONE. Also, he isn't my only manager....and he seems to keep tabs on my lates and absences. I had a convo with him today and he seem so angry that i go out and wake up a little late and come into work 2-3 minutes before i clock in.......and even more pissed that on my days off i sleep in till noonish. When i say pissed i dont mean he's yelling but he seems to get so aggravated through his speech. What is wrong with this man? I don't want to communicate with him, He weirds me out. But i have no choice. He's always WATCHING EVERYONE like a hawk, but he's not even a major manager here, he use to work out on the floor.......any ideas?

Do you hang up on telemarketers? Do you just let them badger you and wear you down? Do you feel compelled to stay on the line because you are afraid of what might happen if you hang up?

Perhaps you ran them off on some crazy tangent and frustrated them to the point of crying on hanging up on you? Tell us your best story.

I always have this dream that I'm getting married and my future husband's face is blurred out as we are standing at the alter. Everytime the Pastor mentions his name, it's bleeped out. So I hear "Do you take (bleeeeep) as your lawfully wedded husband...." And I'm flippin' out because all my family & friends are there and they seem as if nothing is wrong. I turn to my grandmother and ask her "Who is this man?!!?!" And she replies, "Oh baby, hush now! You gettin married!"

Freaks me out everytime.

What about you?

What do you think, is work taking people away from what is really important?

My best friend killed himself 10 years ago. I still think about him and sometimes I get very sad.

From an evolutionary psychology standpoint, this doesn't seem to make sense. I can see the point of initial grief...it pulls people together (literally and in spirit) after the loss of kin and this may help to prevent future loss (or would have in the hunter/gatherer days of yore).

But some people never get over a loss...why??? Even if you believe in God you would think he would not punish people with that kind of pain.

It seems to me that some entity - at some time, uh, I don't know when - must be in for a large windfall!

Do you believe that a lot of deception exists in the world of finance?

Is it realistic to believe that a nation's wealth is stored in gold bullion in a vault somewhere?

Is Fort Knox really a lot of BULL-ion?

Why isn't some of that alleged bullion being used to pay off some of the foreign debt of the United States or even to feed and look after its own people, as well as others? Isn't it really a waste of gold chains that could be made out of it? After all, gold only has an ascribed value due to its status as a precious metal, not a major intrinsic one.

Do you believe that money is really created out of thin air in the form of credit, issued by the major world bankers, who have chiselled some kind of monopoly (over what, I don't know, maybe hot air)?

People tell me I should have more "repsect" for Jennifer Garner because all I ever talk or think about is sex with her, her anatomy, and I constantly fantasize about seeing her please herself erotically. people say she's not a piece of meat and she's an actress and a mother and I should have some decency. any opinions?

If discriminating on the basis of race, religion and creed is not acceptable, is it acceptable to discriminate on the basis of appearance (overweight/underweight)? If so, why is it acceptbale to you? Conside this: if you were obese or severely underweight and constantly maligned for your physical appearance, would you agree with those that sought to discriminate against you because of how you look?
And yes, this is a reality for many people- overweight individuals are not treated in a respectful manner, do not get the same pay as the healthy counterparts for the same jobs and are generally passed over for promotions (gender studies will enlighten you on this subject.)

I am interested in learning more about the shale oil reserves in the Green River Formation in Colorado and Utah. I have done some research already, but am hoping that you may provide sources I missed. Websites, books, and report sources would be much appreciated.
