So that the drinkers of the cola would be addicted to it, therefore spending more money buying the product making Coca Cola a larger profit. Pretty Genious when you think about it.

I certainly have not something so witty as what others have replied, regrettably. the only subject i can think of is that it would be like filling a cup with ice and then having Coca-Cola put in and then those ice cubes soften: dilution. i don't think of a few barrels of Coca-Cola might certainly do something because of the super point of dilution.

As a "tonic", a substance to address fatigue, low energy, and to give a sense of overall wellbeing. It justified the name of the product, of course and, altho the name no longer means there's cocaine in the product, one has to wonder about the psychological effect of a beverage that has "coca" at least in its name!

When Coke was first made cocaine was a legal substance.

Being a legal substance there was no reason not to use it because it really made the customer feel good.

it was because of flavor, you have a lot or flavor in these kinds of sodas but as the centuries passed, they started seeing the threats of the cocaine
