I have had several people in my life die in the past 5 yrs, including my father--of a massive heart attack, a coworker who also died of heart attack, one who died saturday of a brain anuerism, a co-worker who died of cancer and all in their 40's. I am 40-- will turn 41 soon, and suddenly I am aware of my mortality...In my 20's I felt invincible, and even in my 30's I felt as though I had many yrs left, but now, I am not so sure...I guess I ask, "why not me?'' Is it just me or are those of you in your 40's feel this way. Now I feel I want to hurry up and accomplish what has been left for "another day," and certianly I want to be around for my children. It's just that the care free sense is gone. Don't get me wrong, i'm not running scared, but every now & then, it hits me, that i'm privileged to be alive, to live in the united states, to not be in a daily struggle for survival and I am humbled...and greatful. Do you ever ponder this???? what will the eulogy be...

It's not just teens. I've seen adults post nasty questions and it's hard to get real advice on here - there are some people who actually try to answer these questions, but most people don't.

Mine is lying on a beach, somewhere like Thailand, with someone who I love and who loves me back, watching the sunset.
Yours?

Alot of people believe we go to a place called Heaven or a place called Hell when we die. I beleive this....

We are on a large rock spinning in one place out in the middle of space (Earth), When we die I think there are realms of Positive power and realms of negitive power and one with lost souls, but all the same we are right here on earth. We may or may not be able to see or know whats going on aound the living but I belive that some may not even know they are dead but keep liveing there lives over and over like a stamp imprinted on time that ends and plays over again and again in a spirit world.

Please comment on this thought..im interested in reading them....and no, I dont use drugs for those shallow people that bump into this. I just have a lot of time on my hands..lol

this has nothing to do whether you believe in Jesus as being God, Gods Son. only saying there is as much evidence, and actually quite a lot more Jesus lived. more so than George did. Why do you who believe George was real but do not believe Jesus really existed? as persons, theres no bodily remains of either one, to show proof. if you make an argument like letters clothes, witness', relatives etc. they can be said of Jesus too. anything can be faked forged or attributed to one that isnt true. Georges cherry tree, him never having told a lie. that doesnt give reason why one you believe in, and another you do not. i dont believe the shroud is Jesus' burial clothing, many do. im trying to understand the logic and reasoning why ones life is accepted where anothers isnt. Considering all arguments for or against either are very easily crossed to pro or con for them both.
as popular as Christs life still is today. It makes sense to use in comparison one like George too bc of his popularity

Pensioners often make the headlines - often with the underlying theme that they deserve more money etc etc

Many many do and I have no problem with that at all - they fought in WWII, made the country what it is etc - case closed..

What I wonder about though is why the group is treated as all deserving - within the pensioner group is as wide a range of people as in the general population -

Within it is -

Ex-Sex Offenders, Murderers, People who have never worked, Really rich people etc etc

So if it makes sense - I mean why is there never any acknowledgement that over 65's are as diverse as the rest of us and A FEW may not deserve a cosy retirement?

What would you think of enacting laws that would allow certified police officers to administer a split cane rod whipping to subjects convicted of thefts, shoplifting, gas-drive-off's, vandalism, and such crimes? Say we limit it to three to five blows and require the officers to constrain their blows so as not to break bones or cause permanent damage. Is that too medevil or is it an old remedy whose time is ripe again?
