this has nothing to do whether you believe in Jesus as being God, Gods Son. only saying there is as much evidence, and actually quite a lot more Jesus lived. more so than George did. Why do you who believe George was real but do not believe Jesus really existed? as persons, theres no bodily remains of either one, to show proof. if you make an argument like letters clothes, witness', relatives etc. they can be said of Jesus too. anything can be faked forged or attributed to one that isnt true. Georges cherry tree, him never having told a lie. that doesnt give reason why one you believe in, and another you do not. i dont believe the shroud is Jesus' burial clothing, many do. im trying to understand the logic and reasoning why ones life is accepted where anothers isnt. Considering all arguments for or against either are very easily crossed to pro or con for them both.
as popular as Christs life still is today. It makes sense to use in comparison one like George too bc of his popularity

i believe in both having lived. i am just curious as to why one persone would or could make argument Christ didnt, and believe George did. George believed in Christ and prayed to God, and proclaimed his christianity. Amen

Acutely there is less evidence Jesus was alive it has just been copied more time. The billions of bibles are not billions of proofs that is one proof recreated billions of times. You have more different sources for the information on George Washington also they have not be rewritten as many times. Also a lot of the writings that people have to prove Jesus existed were written more then 100 years after he died. By Christians. So people who never met him but read other writhing wrote them. This does not add more proof that is just how they interpreted the other writings.
We have originals of thing that George wrote and other people wrote about him. There are no original writings on Jesus. only copies of them.
I am not saying there is not plenty of evidence that Jesus exists I am just saying if you think there is more then there is that George Washington existed you are very ignorant. You believe the tricks of the fanatics. They say there is more writings about Jesus then anyone else. What they don't tell you is that almost all of them are the same thing over and over.
I mean if I take a document to a copy machine and run off 1000 copies I don't have 1000 times the proof of something. I have the same proof just 1000 copies of it.

I believe that George Washington existed because there is a clear and well documented historical record of him and his activities. His personal impact reverberates today.
The Romans were meticulous record keepers and while many of the historical figures of Jesus's time are documented, there is NO documentation of Jesus. The record of Jesus begins to be recored about 300 years after his supposed existence by the Christians of that time. It would appear the the Jesus myth is a consolidation and combination of many prior myths.
Until there is much better documentation or empirical evidence of his existence, I see no reason to assume that he did exist. I'll admit that it is possible that he did exist, but there is insufficient evidence to make me accept it as true.

Of course Jesus existed. It's not just the bible, but other accounts of his life from other writings and sources heavily point to that fact. I think you're confusing 'existing' with 'believing he was the son of god and could walk on water and rose from the dead and turned water into wine'. That's what a lot of agnostic and atheist friends of mine have a problem with.
