Geeks typically make good fathers because:

We are good providers.

We take an active role in helping mom from cooking meals to changing diapers.

We take a very active role in education. We can help them with their homework well into their college years. We can answer their questions about how things work with detailed explanations.

We provide DNA that is destined for greatness.

We are loyal to our families.

We are great birth coaches.

I don't believe that any group of stereotypes make good fathers. It depends individually on the person. I know one "geek" who has 2 daughters ages 2 and 8. He won't be left alone with his children because he says he "can't handle two of them". While it may seem that "geeks" are more responsible and wise, they most likely lack common sense skills which are required to raise children.

Yes. Dorks however, would not. Geeks are the smart bumbling ones who get the job done, while dorks can either be smart are dumb and (in my mind) are not nearly as successful. So hypothetically, geeks can be good fathers.

I don't label anyone, so I don't know what you'd consider a geek...but I feel everyone has the equal opportunity to be a good parent, no matter what lifestyle they choose, or what their personality is...so yes, I think "geeks" can make good fathers.

"Geeks" end up usually making more money that non-geeks so I would say he could end up a better provider than others. Fathering skills differ from one person to another geek or not.

Do you mean geek in the sense of
1) Smart, and commited to knowledge, with overall good social skills or
2) Losery, with little or no social skills?

The answer to 1- some of the best.
The answer to 2- not very likely, but there is little chance of it happening, so don't worry about it.

I think some of them make better fathers because they have a lot to teach their children and expect a lot from them.
