I think there are two categories here: attraction and what matters a little more in the long run. In attraction, the best things are being funny and having some confidence. Being funny can be interpreted many ways so let me explain. It's nice if he can joke about a situation and make you laugh, not tell jokes or make smart comments thinking he's funny. Basically, it's having a sense of humor and a light heart. The only thing that you could try to do here without looking like you're trying is having a light heart by taking things less seriously. But, never take this approach when she's upset about something.
So, more appealing for actually keeping her is the above plus having a soft side. This means being empathetic when she needs you, understanding her feelings, or at least showing true concern for her feelings, whether you two are having a problem, or it has nothing to do with you. Being able to comfort her is very important.

A guy who isn't afraid to be physical in a clean way. For example, him feeling comfortable enough to take her face in his hands and kiss it romantically. Guys like visual stimulation. Us ladies like emotional stimulation. Gets us every time. ;-) Use it but don't abuse it. Good luck.
