Would all animals benefit from extended prenatal care? I know that mammals take care of their young extensively until they mature, but would all other animals benefit from this same treatment if it was given to them? Such as vertebrates...please try and use facts to support answer. Thanks.

I have seen black widow spiders in my garage, but I found a very odd spider that was the shape of a black widow it had a red hourglass, but it was striped. It was not very big only about the size of my pinkie nail what is it do you think? Are there different variations of the Black widow spider or is it a possible mutation?

I was building my Xenu shelter and came across petrified remains of what looks to be an ancient burial ground of small rodents (all under 3' in length) with huge ivory tusks(2.5" each) and wing remains. It looks like a sabortoothed bat, or a carnivorous flying gerbil-squirrel... I know they are not bats because of horns. It's like as if someone gave a chihuahua some Dracula teeth and glued some wings on it. Weird..

I do not care about one particular species of the bear or shark - every species combined would be best.

Thanks

So I know that an octopus can camouflage itself using pigment sacs in its skin where different colored sacs can be displayed using tiny muscles in the skin. But how does the octopus know what sacs to present (or what color to become) if it cannot see in color?

I have two very small children and I keep seeing these spiders outside my house. He looks scary, but if he's harmless I'll let them live outside. Take a look at the pics and let me know what you think!!

My friends and I found a spider on the outside brick wall and it was really big! It was about the width of the brick and it was black and white striped on it's large abdomen. On the underside it had the same pattern but yellow and black. I live in mid-western MN and one of the people I was with said she had never seen a spider like that in her life. (she's 40!) I looked all over the iternet and can not find anything the resembles this spider! Please tell me if you know anything!

In my recent travels, I was going through Texas, when I noticed a group of armadillos crossing the road and I was struck by their magnificent beauty. After that, I started collecting photos and memorabillio about these vastly underated animals. Where can I get more information and photos about them??

I am confused as to what the difference is between large dinosaur-like prehistoric creatures (Such as the Dimetrodon) and actual dinosaurs (Like a Tyrannosaurus). On Discovery Channel specials, I'll see a show with two large creatures, and they'll say that one is a dinosaur, but another is not. Is there some sort of scientific distinction? I assume there is, but what is it?

Does any one know what this bug is called? It is about 3 inches long, Found in Central Florida, It appears to have its mate riding on its back (I assume the female is the larger one and the male is the smaller one) and they are black and have yellow lines going down there back. I was told they are called Devils Horses , but I cannot find them online any where... I found Devils Coach Horse but it is a completely different bug... Any one know? Here are 2 different links to two different pictures.
