In my recent travels, I was going through Texas, when I noticed a group of armadillos crossing the road and I was struck by their magnificent beauty. After that, I started collecting photos and memorabillio about these vastly underated animals. Where can I get more information and photos about them??

I love them, though sometimes they kinda make me cringe because they are hard yet some extremely coarse hairs on their under belly. I got to work with them at the zoo I volunteer at and when I moved them from their normal cage to the holder's cage so I could clean the one they stay in they would be really sleepy, or roll in a ball so I could just hold one in each hand. and then as I put them back the male always had to go into the little hut first. But, once I did see the female take a plunge and go in first. Very interesting animals. Especially when you have the chance to look at them real close and see the nails they have and how they walk on the claw almost on their front feet. Very cute little things.

The Nine-Banded Armadillo is what you saw here in Texas... I happened to run into a mom and babies when I was younger. I was able to sneak up on them and hold one of the babies... not a very bright idea, but hey... I was a kid.

Wonderful things! One of my favorite "finds" is a skull and carapace I discovered while exploring a the base of a butte one day out in Texas. Be careful, though. They do carry leprosy.
