Thunder is the loudest repeating sound in nature. Krakatoa was the loudest single sound in nature.

Neither.

There are species of bird and primates (gibbons, siamangs, howlers) that take the cake on that one.

That is not to say lions are not loud, but they are not close to winning any prize.
