These are not Owls of any kind, they look like a smaller built Seagull, they use their wings in a simular movement. They are light colored white/cream with two black stripes on the outer edge of their wings. Their call is a singular note slightly gravely and mid to high pitched. Are they really night birds or just confused by all the lights from a large shopping area close by?

Just wondering because it seems there is an over population of these geese in so many areas. Eagles & large hawks should have a relatively easy time finding food & increasing their numbers.

We live on a small lake property that has literally been over run by Canada geese. They don't migrate. They just stay here all year around messing up the beach. What would be a safe way to get rid of them without hurting them?

Who or what might this be?

"I'm a small ant - as big as a whale; I'll approach like a breeze, but can come like a gail. By some I get hit - but all have shown fear, I'll dance to the music, though I can't hear.

Of names I have many - of names I have one; I'm as slow as a snail - but from me you can't run. Who am I ?"

Explain why you think that animal is intelligent.
In this regard Human Beings are animals, but human ability itself can not be used as a measure for the intelligence of other animals.
Insects are also reagarded as animals, but for this question, but not germs or bacteria.

Rescued 54 eggs, turtle was digging a nest by the mail box and was run over by the mailman. Marked all the eggs "this side up" and put them in a plastic pan with a couple of inches of sand and gravel from the nest area. Soil temp at egg level was 63 at midday. I live in S.W.North Dakota. What is the gestation time and ideal max-min temp etc. Any reference material welcomed. RScott

Does anyone know what the pernicious Wuchereria Bancrofti feasts upon. I am aware of the fact that they reside within lymph nodes, but does this necessarily mean that they ingest lymphatic tissue.
