pancrease is a mixed gland i.e. it serves both exocrine and endocrine functions. the pancreatic juice is part of exocrine function. the juice is released in the duodenum which then releases proteolytic enzymes to activate the inactive zymogen trypsinogen into active trypsin. trypsin in turn activates other inactive enzymes to help in the process of digestion
