I live in Houston, Texas. Have seen something unknown lately at night in yard. Conjurs up thoughts of flying squirrel, although they are not reported to live in this part of the country. It is small, dark brown and seems to both fly and run. I did not see a long tail and it did not appear to be a typical rodent as it seemed almost "webbed" along it's sides. Any ideas?

I saw a bug today that reminds me of a dragon fly (i think) it has 2 sets of wings, is about 2-3" long, and its RED. It has a body that is similar to a bee and a long tail thingie that is bright red. I have a pic of it but its not a great pic and I can't figure out where to post it for people to see.
