I just saw a show on the preying mantis and I am now fascinated with the Malaysian Orchid Mantis, which resembles an Orchid. I also found out that a Preying Mantis can catch and eat a hummingbird.

i got stung by something on the weekend which left it's sting. it was either a bee or a wasp, even though i know wasps don't leave their stings, i'm convinced that when i hit it off, i broke the sting off the WASP, but my girlfriend says it couldn't be a wasp because wasps bite and don't sting. Please clear this up as we are on the verge of breaking up over this argument. thanks

I have noticed that many people have problems with certain animals and the roles that they play in nature.
I find that certain animals dont have the most important ecological role. In my opinion I find that animals like primates don't really contribute much ecologically speaking.

Which critters to you think are the least important and why?
