I saw a bug today that reminds me of a dragon fly (i think) it has 2 sets of wings, is about 2-3" long, and its RED. It has a body that is similar to a bee and a long tail thingie that is bright red. I have a pic of it but its not a great pic and I can't figure out where to post it for people to see.

Hard to tell without seeing a picture, but it sounds like it is indeed a type of dragonfly.

There are several species that are red in colour, and are even around the right size.

It is most likely a dragon fly. The long abdomen can be red. Not many insects are that long. Look at this link.

Without a picture, I can't tell, but dragonflies come in all sorts of colours, so it could be a dragonfly.
