I'm having trouble choosing between the two. Pharmacy has been a long tradition in my family, and also is very rewarding, but being a physician is just as rewarding if not more. I want to be in medicine, for sure, im fascinated by, and i want to feel like i help people at the end of the day. But my concerns about these careers is this, pharmacy may be too boring, just counting pills every day, nothing new to examine and a physician has to go through minimum 10 years of schooling and deal with debt and malpractice insurance after. With all pros and cons put into perspective, what career is better?

I had abdominal surgery several years ago. I no longer live near the surgeon who performed the surgery. The surgery was to remove abnormal tissue but the tissue was not cancerous.

The scar resulting from the procedure is an inch thick (rope-like) that stretches from one hip bone to the other. I'm not concerned with the appearance of the scar but it causes me physical discomfort.

Since the surgery, I gained 20 pounds (I don't know if that is relevant) to the discomfort caused by the scar. I'm not significantly overweight and I exercise three times per week.

The scar feels like a rope pulling tight from hip bone to hip bone. It isn't bothersome when I'm physically active but when I sit done to read or watch TV it is so distracting and uncomfortable I cannot relax.

I'm concerned that my insurance would consider any surgical treatment cosmetic and not covered the procedure so I would first like to first a try non-invasive treatment.

What causes a person to die? If it's something like heart failure, then that person can get a new heart right? So is it possible to live forever? What is it exactly that is out of our control? If it is something physical, doctors can reproduce it using stem cells.

Okay, so I just applied for a new job. As usual they want a drug test.....so I gave a urine specimen.

Then I remembered that the night before, my mom had given me a vicodin for back pain, i've been having. It helped a little and allowed me to sleep okay.

I've never really taken Vicodin before.........But I was wondering....How long will it show up in my system??? I only took One about 9pm on Monday and tested today, Tuesday at 12 noon.

Will it come out positive ????

We recently took our 20 month old son on a backpacking trip into the high country of Yosemite National Park. We carried him in one of those baby toting back packs, while the rest of us carried all the other gear. While trekking, each of our adult companions suffered scores of mosquito bites. My sister in-law alone received over 100 bites and had an allergic reaction. We all wore the same bug repellent; my son included.

My son didn’t get bitten once, not once. He is still being breast feed, could this be the reason he wasn’t bitten? Why else would he not be bitten?

Say your husband wants a kid, and you don't. So you are secretly taking birth control pills or getting shots or whatever. Obviously you haven't gotten pregnant, so your husband suggest going to a fertility doctor. If they do blood work or urine tests, will they be able to tell that you are on the Pill still? Can they tell your husband without your permission?

As an emergency medical technician , you are called to the home of a 13-week old boy who has become listless and is having trouble breathing. The parents tell you that he used to smile a lot but has not smiled lately. They said he has not show any noticeable facial expressions in the last 2 days. You notice the boy's eyes open but do not seem to be focusing. You place your outstretched fingers under his finger and he fails to grasps it. You lift his foot and it drops back to the mattress. According to the parents, he has not had any bowel movement in 3-4 days?

What is your suspicions based on what you have observed?

Based on this suspicions, do you start treatment at the patient's home, or should you transport him immediately to the local hospital?

What should be administered to the patient at the earliest opportunity?

How do babies acquire this condition?

Confirmation of the diagnosis will most likely be at state laboratories, guided by the CDCP, not at the local hospital lab Why?
