I just received my daughters muscle biopsy results and was told she had too many variables in fiber size but that didn't give us a dx and am wondering if anyone has any insight to what this means

Yes, right by describing "too many variables in fiber size" won't be sufficient to arrive to a diagnosis. But having such mixed fibers sizes could either be due to partial denervation of the muscles or some kind of muscular dystrophies. Those are just the probabilities and sure it will need additional investigations to have a definitive diagnosis.

It means with the varience in muscle size they can say probable muscle disorder but that alone will not tell them which one. Muscle disorders are very hard to diagnose. My son has been going through testing for 4 years and they still dont know which muscle disorder it is. He has had many blood tests, 2mri's, nerve condution,Emg, muscle biopsy, heart testing, lung testing and many test of physical ability. And still they dont know. She is having problems with regenerating and degenerating muscle tissue.
