all of the above answers are correct. nitroglycerine would cause dilation of the arteries, masking the true effects of stress testing, hence, giving false results

nitrocglycerin is used to help prevent a heart attack or to prevent death from a heart attack. When having a stress test performed, your heart is being tested to how fast your heart can get before you pass out. It is a safety measure for the patient.

Nitro is a vasodilator and could cause the pt. collapse during the test, among other problems. It also helps the doctor determine the pt. limitations/pain during the test.
