Gastric bypass, tummy tuck, & Lap Band surgery. What are the benefits & the risks, & which one is the safest? I know my oldest sister died from complications from a tummy tuck, & I heard that Gastric Bypass is bad, too. But I was told that Lap Band was the best & the safest. & is it true that when a woman has a Cesarean Section, that's an AUTOMATIC tummy tuck? That's what my twin sister told me, & she had 3 C-sections with all her kids.

When I was living in New York, the doctor strongly emphasized & advized me to get Lap Band surgery, & he told me that Medicaid & Medicare would pay for it. I'm like 175 lbs. overweight for my height. & also, he said that after I've lost my desired weight, I can get the lap band taken out at any time. & he said I'd lose 100 lbs. Would I lose 100 lbs. instantly with that or would it take time?

**Sorry for so many questions but I need to get all of them answered.

Theancient native doctors ,by feeling the pulse, were able to diognose the illness. But not now. That doesn't mean that the present practice of medicine is wrong.I mean the earlier practice is allowed to extinct.

Ok, I saw it on the tey today about the MMR jab again.

with the people with the "autism 1 in 100" t shirts... couldnt the choldren with it just have been born with it ? and is just showing signs as they get older?

and isnt the 'risk' ofn autism better than the diseases that the jab protects you from ?

what's your view ?

ive read through all these threads about the downsides of medicine, with people saying that if your a doctor
-your entire life is constant stress and headaches
-you have to sacrifice having a family
-long hours, underpaid

yet from my city, all the doctors i know are incredibly rich, have families and laid back lives ....

any doctors on this forum care to respond about there take on medicine today and whether all these statements of the negative aspects of medicine are true?

I'm going to be going to England to join medicine with St. George's University and I'm terrified that I'll be miserable because I'll be a foreign medical graduate. Has anyone been through SGU? Can you tell me how bad the situation is going to be as a foreign med graduate? Please help. Thanks.

Hello there! I posted this in careers...but I thought it would get more hits under medicine. I was wondering how/when people start families if they are wanting to become a doctor. If the husband and wife are both going to medical school, when is a good time to start a family? Obviously, I it is too hard to be a mom and go to med school because it is too much work, so do most people have kids after med school? After residency? If so, does that mean that you have to wait a few years before starting/joining a practice (I want to be a pediatrician). What is life like with both spouses as medical students and eventually doctors?

When the doctor or (witch-doctor) tells you that
what you have is genetic,
why does he not proceed to find the genetic specific sequences that are a problem
but assumes that medicine stops at......"It is genetic"
