An upper GI test examines the upper and middle portions of the gastrointestinal tract. The following are some of its purposes:
>>To find out the cause of some gastrointestinal symptoms, such as swallowing difficulty ,vomiting, regurgitating food, or abdominal pain.
>>Detection of strictures, ulcers, tumors, polyps, or pyloric stenosis.
>>Detect inflamed areas of the intestine, malabsorption syndrome, and motility disorders.
>>Evaluate symptoms such as weight loss and chronic diarrhea.
>>Detect swallowed foreign objects.
