A steroid is a terpenoid lipid characterized by a carbon skeleton with four fused rings, generally arranged in a 6-6-6-5 fashion.
Steroids can vary by the functional groups attached to these rings and the oxidation state of the rings. Hundreds of distinct steroids are found in plants, animals, and fungi. All steroids are biosynthetically derived either from the sterol lanosterol (animals and fungi) or the sterol cycloartenol (plants). Both sterols are derived from the cyclization of the triterpene squalene. Thus steroid denotes a chemical structure. Some steroids like Testosterone are hormones.
The function of hormones is to serve as a signal to the target cells; the action of hormones is determined by the pattern of secretion and the signal transduction of the receiving tissue. The best-known animal hormones are those produced by endocrine glands of vertebrate animals, but hormones are produced by nearly every organ system and tissue type in a multicellular organism.

growth hormone is what is in your body while your young and still growing but there is different hormones. Some people take it to grow bigger. You won't get taller again because once you stop growing taller you stop for good. But you can get bigger. I don't recommend any steroids or growth hormone. But if I had too I would do growth hormone, they haven't proven as many side affects yet like steroids, the only bad thing is if your heart is growing and also you can take it so long your jaw and bones start getting to big and looks funky.
