Eggs and Yogurt: A breakfast full of complex proteins (proteins that contain high amounts of amino acids), such as eggs and yogurt, energize instead of relax the body. The proteins raise the level of the amino acid tyrosine in the blood and brain. If more tyrosine is present, the body's neurons will produce more norepinephrine and dopamine. Norepinephrine is an excitatory neurotransmitter that makes you feel motivated, alert and able to concentrate. It is also necessary for the brain to form new memories and to transfer memories from short term to long-term storage. Dopamine is also a neurotransmitter associated with activity and fine muscle coordination and aids in healthy assertiveness, autonomic nervous system and immune system functions. Dopamine levels can be depleted by lack of sleep and high stress. So, it is important replenish dopamine levels with a protein packed breakfast after a hard night of studying

If you need an increase in Dopamine or Norepinephrine then a psychiatrist can help. If you just want to increase them to get high then do not bother. There are a lot of problems with messing with your natural brain chemistry. Norepinephrine and Dopamine are both released when you have a good workout (at least 30 mins of strenuous exercise). Honestly, only a licensed professional should help adjust the chemicals in the brain.

A suicide attenpt shows just how severe your depression was. People don't try, or consider, suicide with a mild depression. You really need to read up on bipolar disorder. There are several types. The one with the very rapidly changing moods is considered to be "rapid-cycling" and/or "ultra rapid-cycling" depending on how frequently one cycles in a month, or even in a day (I have the latter form). Bipolar 1 is the type that exhibits more mania and less depression. The opposite is true of Bipolar 2. One can have "mixed states", where there are symptoms of hypo-mania or mania (usually irritability, agitation, and pressured speech) in combination with depression. Your symptoms strongly suggest bipolar 2. Remember there are all degrees of severity, from a mild case to a severe case. Not everyone displays the same symptoms, either. Please get checked out by a psychiatrist.. Believe me, my life would have gone much better if I'd been diagnosed as a teen, rather than at 35 after a lot of damage was already done.
