However, vascular diseases that affect the heart and brain are generally more serious than other areas (although I think pulmonary vascular diseases are equally as bad).

Vascular disease involves any part of the vascular system (all veins and arteries). However a clot in a leg may travel to other parts of the body causing real trouble.

false, although the heart and brain are the ones most commonly affected. any organ that has vascular perfusion can be affected however- for instance, diabetics can get kidney failure due to vascular disease of the kidneys.
