Stays in your system for a minimum of 36 hours.
You will most likely test positive.
You can explain the situation - hopefully they'll be open minded about it.

Vicodin has a short life within the system. BUT if you are worried, take Milk Thistle or de-tox tea. A good health food store or Sports Nutrition store will advise you on what will eliminate any toxins that might create "false positives in your urine".

Vicodin usually only stays in your system for eight hours. You should be fine. But if you do test positive, explain to them what happened and go from there. Here is another reason not to take anything not prescribed for you.

You're probably busted, and your mom, well-meaning as she was, committed a felony (assuming she's not licensed to prescribe narcotics). It seems trivial, but there's a lot wrong with taking narcotics without a prescription, though in your case the loss of the job is perhaps a bit much for the error. And your mother really should know better.

It depends what your job is testing for. Could be cocaine, marijuana, but I doubt if they're testing for vicodin...You should probably go to the doctor so you'd have proof of taking a prescription drug next time.

If they are testing for narcotics, Vicodin will definitely show up if there was any in your system at the time, as it is a narcotic.
If they are testing for marijuana, you're safe.

Normally, a workplace will test for the 5 most common street drugs.
----------------------
The most commonly used screening test offers additional kits for ethanol, benzo-diazepines, methaqualone, propoxyphene, barbiturates, and methadone. Practically speaking, however, it is unusual in the workplace to test for drugs other than the "National Institute on Drug Abuse Five." As there are essentially no positives in any workforce for PCP, the real issues involve testing for marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and amphetamine.
