Can anyone tell me how you you know you have found a good probiotic product? There are so many out there now. Pearls, capsules, ones needing refrigeration, or no refrigeration.

I would love to ask a doctor about this, but my general doctors don't know much because it is so new. What kind of doctor would know how to get a good sorce of probiotics?

As for brands I have tried, I tried and liked Culturelle, but it was $20. I am now using CVS's brand of Pearl probiotics. They seem ok and are only $10. I would spend whatever I needed if I could find one I felt assured to be helpful.

Thanks!

I have been on the percocet for about three months. I am still having a hard time walking for long periods of time, bending over is almost impossible, and I still have a tremendous amount of pain. My doctor says that it is policy that they treat you for 90 days after surgery, then you no longer receive the pain meds. I only have a two day dosage left. I need to know how I can detox myself without dying. I don't snort them or anything or take them to get high, but it doesn't really matter why you were taking them, the withdrawals are the same, right? Anyway, any advice on how I could make the ordeal less suffering would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just had a quick glance at today's headlines and found an interestsing news that Anna Nicole's corpse is now a target of legal battle...A court has ordered the burial of her body within short period of time from now because "Although her body is now refrigerated and seemingly no damages have been done to it; we still recommend speeding up the legal process to have the body buried as soon as possible because any delay may cause damages to her..." This somewhat laughable statement makes me wonder if the refrigeration can cause damages to dead bodies...isn't it supposed to be one of the most effective way to preserve a body?

Hello everyone,

I first broached the topic of chronic pain, specifically my chronic pain a few months back while I was in insufferable pain. Well... much has remained the same, I am still in pain and suffering on a day-to-day basis.

There is one medication that I KNOW will absolutely absolve me of all pain... however, will this just be a cover-up? First of all, the medication is paxil, which can treat certain forms of polyneuropathy, which seems to be affecting me. Paxil, will work over the course of a few weeks, ending with the complete cessation of pain -- but is it the right solution?

Would you take an SSRI to solve your chronic pain (hypothetical if you're not suffering at the moment)? Many people take SSRIs for depression alone, not for chronic pain...

What do you think?

I am considering doing laser eye surgery in April and have been visiting various places...most places quote me prices around $5000...one place though which is located in the financial district of Toronto, Canada where I live offeres surgery from as low as $ 500 an eye (place is called LASIK MD)...i find that a little troubling...they say they offer it this low because of the sheer volume that they do and they can afford to offer it this low...im just wondering what to do?

Remote surgery (also known as telesurgery) is the ability for a doctor to perform surgery on a patient even though they are not physically in the same location. It is a form of telepresence. Remote surgery combines elements of robotics, cutting edge communication technology such as high-speed data connections and elements of management information systems. While the field of robotic surgery is fairly well established, most of these robots are controlled by surgeons at the location of the surgery. Remote surgery is essentially advanced telecommuting for surgeons, where the physical distance between the surgeon and the patient is immaterial. It promises to allow the expertise of specialized surgeons to be available to patients worldwide, without the need for patients to travel beyond their local hospital.

So, last Friday, I went to my doctor because of some erratic pain in my bladder area. I had a UA done and it showed blood in the urine and leukocytes (white blood cells)...signals infection. I was prescribed Bactrim on Friday, and am about to take my last dose tonight. I am still feeling a little bit of pain where I had been last week....What's up with this? :(

HI, I just started taking 2 extended release meds every day. I also have been taking digestive enzymes after every meal for about 4 years because they help with my bloating and fatigue after eating. I quit taking them recently because I started with the Xtnd release meds and I am worried that using the enzymes will cause the meds to break down and release all at once rather than through out the day like they're supposed to. I really want to start the enzymes again. My pharmacist and doctor could not answer my question definitively, which pisses me off, so I don't know where to turn for answers. Thank you.
