Am I better off taking pre-med at my local university for nearly no cost, and saving my money for medical school, or taking out loans for an "elite" college? Do med schools prefer one over the other?

My mother has been off Cymbalta for about 2-3 weeks now. She is crying for answers. How long do these withdrawls last?! I know Cymbalta has a very bad reputation for withdrawls. It's hard watching her in pain. Please if anyone can answer.

My paternal grandmother is 83 years old. Last year she had some surgery because she had some fluid retention in her brain (hydrocephalus). We think that she may be in the early stages of Alzheimer's.

But, there is one health condition she seems to be suffering from. Certain days she is fine, but some days she suffers from a period where she has shortness of breath and it gets so bad she is hospitalized. Other days her breathing is normal. She has been to several doctors but they can not find anything physically wrong with her. Is there a possibility she could be a hypochondriac?

Lives with younger sister, who seems overprotective of her; been retired for a while but not involved in many activities mainly because she has no means of getting most places(she can walk but she does have some problems when she walks). At times, she does not have anyone who can do things for her. I am confused about everything so I do not know what to do.

2 of my friends took an adderall yesterday and they cleaned the entire house top to bottom and were super happy and positive, I want this too but I think adderall has too many side affects after taking it for a long time, What are some other medications that enhance the brains function and are basically the same as adderall and how well do they work over time?
Thank you

I'm only 18 years old but suffer from quite shaky hands! This is annoying in my part time job as a waiter and could be even more so when I go to university as I am studying chemistry and will be working in a lab. Is there anything I can do to reduce this? I'm asking in this section because I hoped a surgeon might see it as (hopefully) you guys have the steadyist hands around!

I am against all animal testing for cosmetics. But i'm not sure what to think about medical research. for example, i'd much rather have spots than having medicine that killed defenceless animals. I'm still unsure about the saving lives aspect, why should we kill to save? Please give me some ideas! thanks much...

To be more specific if a patient takes 0.5mg of clonezepam what is the half-life.And when he takes 0.25mg of clonezepam what is the halflife.

Also when he takes 1mg,2mg,etc what is the half life.

It would also help if i can get a formula that can give me the relation between old halflife & new halflife when the dose is changed.

When I was a child I had a head injury that required a CT scan. The neurologist pointed out that my brain stem is reversed (it curves toward the front of my skull instead of curving back). I recently had another CT scan and the doctor mentioned the same thing but I was so out of it during both hospital visits I never got the chance to ask.

Does it mean anything? Would this cause any differences in brain function or general wiring? It isn't bad is it? Is it very uncommon?

I know that I asked several related questions there but I've always been curious about it!
