Osteopathic medicine is an innovative and cutting edge field that's gaining prestige and popularity worldwide, and I can't wait to get into that field but am concerned about being accepted to a med school of my choice. Having a couple years before I can apply to med school, any tips or tricks to get in? Or any strategies I can employ to maximize my chances? Anything in addition to just a basic "clinical experience and good MCATs" will be greatly appreciated.

It seems that lithium, MAOs, tricyclic and other medications helped depression before prozac and other selective seratonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs) came along. If these other medications worked before the SSRIs, then why is seratonin regulation the only answer to depression?

hey guys!i'm doing a project, investigating the chemistry behind natural products...you know we all hear the extreme claims made by companies about their products, and most of us do not try the natural products because we probably don't believe the claims! and it is my personal belief that many such companies take us for a ride. If you know of any such company or individual deceiving people, please let me know the name of the comapny and product, and i will complete my research. I'm just having a really tough time finding a product.Thank u!

Biopiracy: the people of developing countries are strongly criticizing the companies of developed countries for their enclosure of the genetic resources, calling it "biopiracy". They are claiming that the pharmaceutical companies and nurseries of developed countries are developing medicines and seeds from the native species which they have been protecting and utilizing from long before and monopolizing the profits by acquiring patents. A strong criticism against there action is contained in the word "biopiracy" (piracy of biological resources). See:
