I hope Anyone who has sound knowledge in Electrical engg. Can only make a suggestion for the following question! I also need simple illustration. I must generate 200 watts of Electricity. But i have only these details.
1. Crank shaft pulley dia 8 cm.
2. Crank shaft speed 700 rpm.
3. 2 kg of force acting on the crank shaft.
4. Crank shaft length - 15 cm.
If I connect the crank shaft to an ordinary car alternator, will it be able to produce 200 watts?
I know nothing about Elec. Engg. So please make a good suggestion how to produce 200 watts.

if i were to construct a big cage made of metal pipes, and put it on my roof and ground it with heavy gauge wire, could i sit underneath it safely? would all the current go to ground?
the cage would be like a lot of pipes in a row, all connected together and grounded. there would be no walls, it would just be a metal pipe roof, if you could imagine. maybe like 20-30 feet high off of my roof.
don't just say no, only answer if you actually know the answer. and if it's not safe, how could i make it safe?
this is just an idea, i probably would never actually do it.

ok, please follow the link. you'll see an 11" HID spotlight. it runs for 3-4 hours, produces 2900 freakin lumens, and yet still only costs like $120. Most hid lights that are that strong, should cost a lot more, can u see a catch?

I broke my boss's stirling engine display this morning. I need to replace it before he returns from his overseas trip by this Friday. To place an order online and wait for delivery takes too long. Anyone out there knows where I can walk in and buy a stirling engine model in Singapore or Hong Kong? Thank you!

After falling downhill for half of the trip, how much further would it go uphill using its kinetic energy? (Assume magnetic suspension.) If the heat energy picked up underground could be used to charge batteries, could it make the whole trip without using external energy?

Im in a confusion. Imagine if two objects were squashed when dropped and both returned to their original states.
However, one of them deformed less in comparison to the other before it returned to its original state.
Does this mean that the object that deformed less is more elastic, does this also mean that it will lose less energy to the surroundings?

16" unlined ductile iron pipe, ID = 17.1", OD = 17.4"
Starting water temp = 50 °F
Ambient air temp = 7 °F
Therm cond of ductile iron pipe, k = 36 W/m K
Heat loss, Q = -kA(T2-T1)
A = surface area of pipe per meter of pipe = PI*(.5*OD)^2 = 0.15 sq m / m of pipe
Q = -36*0.15*(283-260) = -132 Watts/meter of pipe

Now calculate the time it takes to cool the mass of water in 1 m of pipe from starting temp
Of 50 °F to 32 °F

Time to cool = Q / heat capacity of water / mass of water per m of pipe / (273 K – 283 K)
Where
Heat cap of water = 4200 J/kg per degree K
Mass of water in 1 m of pipe = 148 kg per m of pipe
Freezing point of water = 32°F = 273 K
= 13 hours

Now, determine the time to freeze water at 32°F

Time = Q / latent heat of fusion for water / mass of water in pipe per meter
Where
Latent heat of fusion of water = 334,000 J/kg
= 104 hours
Total time to cool water from 50°F to freeze it is 13 hr +104 hr = 117 hr, this seems too high
