A recent article I got from a "believer" friend claimed that meteoric dust within a crop circle "prooves" that it can't be a hoax. (no where in this "scientific" article did the author show that he sampled soil away from the crop circle as a control group). I'd like to use this example to educate him about scientific methods vs. psuedo-sci methods.

I though it was that an asteroid is still in space, and a meteor is an asteroid that has entered our atmosphere.

I looked at the definitions on google for each of the words, but I would like to hear from someone who has actually studied astronomy. Thanks for your answers.

Arguments

P1 - The Universe is everything that is.
P2 - Everything that is cannot be smaller or larger than itself. Because everything is not realtive to anything.
P3 - Therefore the Universe could have never been infinitely small, nor can it be expanding.
Conclusion - Big bang theory is false

P1 - Things that grow larger, expand into something.
P2 - If the Universe is expanding - Then it must be expanding into something.
P3 - It cannot be expading into empty space - because space is part of the Universe. It cannot expand into nothing, because nothing does not exist.
Conclusion - The Big bang theory is false

P1 - Scientists say that time was created at the Big Bang. Therefore there is no "Before" the Big Bang.
P2 - Big Bang caused the Universe then it was casually realted to the Universe.
P3 - Casuality runs in both directions. Before an after.
P4 - Therefore if there is no before the big bang there can be no after the big bang.
Conclusion -Big Bang theory is false

Instead of bringing along equiptment, to convert what is availiable on Mars, into fuel to return home, I propose to do the one way sacrifice, and bring along plant seeds, and small nukes, to drop into that Grand Canyon area, hopefully stirring up volcanic eruption at the core, and enough dust so an atmospere could form, without bleeding into space. This would warm and melt the ice, creating a mini Earth. plant life would thrive on the planets high CO2, creating oxygen to breath, rain clouds, lakes rivers...etc....and if the planet has no molten core, and is unable to have a magnetic field, than at least we would know for sure, and could plan space stations or "Plandomets" (thats the word dome inside the word planet, heh). I am willing to make the one way mission if somebody could connect me to the "Teraforming" Nasa folks.
