It's actually more likely to kill us in 5 billion years. That won't be the death of the sun anyway, just a gradual transition in to a white dwarf star.
If you want to work out how many days are in 15 billion years it seems pretty straightforward to work it out but there's not going to be much point. If a scientist says something is going to happen to a star in 5 billion years they mean give or take a few hundred million years.
If someone said a town was 100 miles away it would be silly to ask how many inches away it was, wouldnt it?

If its true that the sun would die in 15 billion years, then how long have the stars that have died been around? The Stars and the sun are still around. Then it means that the Stars that have died were existing much longer than 15 billion years ago. Since all stars degrade at the same rate. And extinct Galaxies have never been observed.
Therefore the Logic indicates that science has not gotten right the age of the Universe and the Creation time of all the Galaxies of the Universe.
Let alone the Death time of the Sun or the Universe.

These scientists are just wasting the time and money on such studies and predictions.
Man landed on Moon and there is a robot on Mars and these scientsts hardly know much about these two bodies in the galaxy. To know about the Sun they will have to go close to the sun, which is impossible, then how come they predict about sun's death.
Sun is never going to die, and this is a fact.
So dont worry, stop counting days and see the sunny side of life. :)

15 billion years. That isn't an accurate time, its just a rough estimate so the prediction will probably still be about the same
