I've been seeing a few discussions about "How can the universe be this wide?", and I'd just like to take it a step further.

So everyone knows that the Big Bang, which started the expansion from a single point somewhere in the universe 13.7 billion years ago, was the "beginning" of the universe as we know it. So if that happened 14 billion years ago, meaning that the farthest light (including any form of radiation) has traveled since then is 14 billion light-years in any direction, how can something be 46.5 billion light-years away? Does this imply that that the Big Bang, in fact, didn't actually create all of the matter currently existing in our universe, and that there is more matter out there that hasn't come from that point of origin?

Say the Big Bang was indeed the beginning of the universe as we know it. That means the farthest our planet could possibly travel from that point is 13.7 billion light-years, meaning the farthest away anything we could possibly see is 14 billion

I know that there are natural reasons that we record time the way that we do: the month = the moon as it orbits earth, the year = the earth revolving around sun, the day = one complete turn on the earth's axis - but how did the week come about. I heard, and believe that it is because of the Biblical creation story - but I'm curious as to any other ideas?

I have an Idea Antimatter is an unstable material but if harnessed it could be used for space exploration. I think if we could create a controled reaction of antimatter and matter (yes like in Star Trek) and somehow transfer that kenitic energy into electricty wich then would be sent to powercells into an engine we could dramaticly cut the travel time in space from Hundreds of years into months, days and weeks. THe only problem is that Antimatter is not found on earth One milligram is worth #300 Billion Dollars. Also if we brought it to Earth it would have to be contained so secruely because if it isnt the violent reaction when the antimatter hit matter it would destroy Earth.

Ceres is by far the largest asteroid. Its diameter is almost twice the size of the diameter of the second largest asteroid, and its mass is more than 1/3 the total mass of all the asteroids in the asteroid belt.

It seems highly improbable for Ceres to be so disproportionately larger than the millions of other asteroids in the asteroid belt. Did Ceres win the lottery, or it there a theoretical explanation as to why it is so much larger?

There is no air on the moon and why is it that we have incredibly
powerful telescopes such as the hubble telescope that can see well past the moon but can see neither the flag nor the equipment left from the "moon landing" (shovels, land rover, etc.), or the tire impressions on the moons surface from the lunar rover.

A. From the Future of Human Race - Albert Einstein, who is the father of physics introduced the law of relativity, where he quoted that time travel is extremely possible if there's a vehicle that can travel in the speed of light. According to thousand documentaries, testimonies and sightings of UFOs’, these UFOs can travel in speed of light.

B. From other planets or stars of other galaxies.

On July 26, 1976, during Viking 1's thirty-fifth orbit of Mars, one of the photographic frames, taken in the northern desert Cydonia region, showed a mile long, 1,500 mesa that looked like a humanoid face. Rectangular patterns that represent civilization were also discovered on Mars. This theory then agrees that Aliens and UFOs are from other galaxies.

A friend of mine insists this is going to happen on Aug 27th because Mars will be 43 million miles from earth. I can't imagine this happening under any circumstances. Am I right?

I've been abducted by aliens and am currently held aboard their enormous spaceship hovering in low earth orbit over finland. Luckily I've managed to escape the room I was locked in and I've found this laptop. Unluckily they haven't got broadband only dial-up. Bloody cheapskates. Also while I'm having a moan they've also got that rubbish Carpenters track "Calling occupants of inter-planetary craft" piped through the speakers in the corridoors 24/7. Anyway, if anyone's ever been in the same situation I would appreciate any advice on an escape plan. I really want to get away before I get the rectal probe treatment.

I've been looking at pictures of UFOs online and they are always tilted like a Frisbee in mid air. I would assume that for top speed and aerodynamics a level flying plane would be best. Makes me wonder....
Here are a few links for examples.

albert einstein says you cant travel faster than the speed of light, if that is so,the distances we need to travel would take to long.if i were in a machine that was travelling the speed of light that shot another machine at the speed of light, surely that machine would be travelling twice the speed of light
