I know that your position on the Earth, northern or southern hemisphere, decides which way water spins going down a drain..... high pressure areas in weather spin one way, low pressure areas, another.... so.... what gives the galaxies and black holes their direction of spin?.... all the representations of the MilkyWay that I've seen show us spinning like a hurricane or low pressure area....

Does space ever end? If it does there has to be something beyond that. There can't just be a blank page.

So, we know that nothing in this Universe is faster than Light. Light travels at an orgasmic speed of +- 300,000 kilometers per second!
The speed of light has been discovered in the last couple of centuries (maybe +- 100 to 200 years ago for argument's sake)
Then how come we know the age of the Universe, or the known diameter of the known Universe. In theory, the Universe is approx. 4-5 Billion Lightyears in diameter!
How do we know that a Galaxy is 4 million Lightyears away. In order to get that 4, the light must travel 8 million years (4 there and 4 back). According to that theory, the Dinosaurs know about the speed of light!
Can someone please answer this difficult question?

Is the universe infinite or finite? Most scientist accept that an explosion caused our universe, but saying that would also mean that our universe had a measurable size at one point. It grew. Some scientists who support the Big Bang say that our universe is infinite. If this is so, what makes them believe the universe is infinte?

Is there a program or website that has an online astronomical starfinder?

I used StarryNight's apple widget the other day and it was an excellent little program to help find things - is there any simple starfinder type program availible anywhere on the internet that can show you what stars are up in the sky at a specific time like this widget for us Vista users?

if the sped of light in the sunout to the suface is about as fast as my nails grow what suddenly propells it to the real speed of light when it reaches the suface? Why does it not gain speed gradually as it eascapes the suns gravity?

Kalpana Chawla (indian-american astronaut ) was killed 4 years ago. And I look up to her for who she was. I know she's in a good place. I have made a video in her memory for school. Do you think she's proud of me for making the video? She's alive in my heart. I had a dream that she told me to walk in her shoes. Does she want me to be an astronaut? or work for NASA?

I was wondering earlier, could light have left our star or planet, traveled out into space, pass very close to a heavy object, slingshot around it, and head back to Earth where we could see it? Wouldn't be like we were looking back in time?

Why are scientist looking for more mater in the universe to try and explain the big crunch.
The universe does not need any mater to contract.
As a mater of fact it would collapse a lot faster if there were no mater.
When mater decays then the universe will slow down and start to contract.
You see the universe is elastic and will revert back to its origonal state before the big bang..
After all its not gravity that made the universe it was the universe that made gravity....What do you think...?

the universe has been expanding since the big bang. but instead of expanding ast a slower rate, its going faster and faster. scientists think that its because of dark matter.

now if dark matter causes the universe to accelerate, how fast can it make it go. can it accelerate it to near the speed of light? and if thats the case, wouldnt the universe then be infinitely massive?

well we all know that the more the mass the more the gravity right?

and we all know that einsteins theory or relativity states that there is this thing called matterenergy and when objects mass's decrease, the energy increases. so then if that happens then that would mean that if an object has more mass, it has less energy. and it has to make up for that (because everything in nature tries to be equal) and so it makes up for that by pulling in the energy from other matter, which also makes the objects mass bigger thus increasing the gravity.

this works out cause everything in nature tries to equal out, like osmosis.

what do you think?

nd btw. legally you cannot steal this idea, so dont even try unless you want to face some jailtime or a lawsuit
