I have just studied about the white dwarf star and in the story plan to get massive amounts of oxygen and carbon, as well as helium and hydrogen for the creation of it. However I would like to know if I made this "proto" star and then abruptly took away the hydrogen from the core, would that result in a premature death, or progression, then if I where to take away the helium would it be able to become a white dwarf faster than normal?

Q: "why dont we send people to mars or create a advanced manned space craft"

Key points:

1. Lack of Gov funding
2. Lack of Technology
3. Lack of public interest

Basically what you are saying is that if we the people inspire the media to start asking questions then congress will start giving answers and in turn supply more funding creating better technology?

Current issue of this magazine goes into details about earth and it's place in the Universe.

Could there be similar planets with proximities to a source like our sun, that have similar beings living there?

Given that there are many other systems in space, could earth be replicated somewhere else?

Use your imagination or plain gut feeling. Thanks.

Should Pluto be counted as a planet? If so, are there other objects in our solar system which also deserve planet status?

I assume that the excessive amounts of hydrogen and helium from the solar winds would do in terms of necessary elements, yet I do not know how small a sun can be when created, can I make one smaller than my hand or what? again this is just theory, yet still how small can a sun or mini sun be?

other than on planet earth! can't remember the names but one, europa, I think might have an ocean, but can an ocean be life supporting without an atmosphere?

Anyway there is another more interesting moon around another planet, saturn I imagine, can't remember the moons name that the cassini probe orbited that showed that it had a similar chemical make -up to earth billions of years ago, could this moon turn into a lush planet in a billion years time?

on the moon are said to be diminishing or even lost thanks to over use and so forth. I believe the gov. is scared that technology will prove its a big hoax. i mean come on, who's going to wait 37years plus to back to something we think we know about. and then again why haven't the russians tried, they do everything we do and try to do it better.

The arguments about the various aspects of the moon landings being fake or not fake are superfluous. Just think.

Thousands of super-intelligent people were involved in the Apollo missions, from 1963 to 1972. To even begin to believe you could dupe all those people, or if not dupe them, pay them all off to keep quiet, or expect thousands of these people to keep quiet about a hoax, is absolutely insane.

I invite anyone who believes that the moon landings were a hoax, to provide me with the mechanism that would keep all the Apollo scientists, engineers, technicians, assistants, either ignorant of the hoax, or in on it.

Tell me how they set up hundreds of visual displays of the flight, the flight instrument recordings, the receivers, and ran these at the Cape, the Houston Control center and various stations around the globe for nearly a decade to monitor Apollo flights, such that it kept all those controllers duped into thinking the thing was real.

On Christmas Eve 2004, scientists discovered an Asteroid headed towards Earth due to hit in the middle of April 2029. It was a small story in the paper and afterwards there were a few specials on the NG & Discovery Ch. After that everyone seemed to forget about it. I know its over 20 yrs away and we have other things to deal with. It's kind of a big deal I think. And so far there have not been any major scientific develoments on defending agaist a celestial hit. Kind of scary, I think that people just forget about it so easily when most of us will probably still be alive in 2029. But, on the other hand, I think if I HAD to choose how I was going to die or the world was going to end I would pick being hit by an asteroid or comet. I wouldn't hide or try to save myself only to have a future on a dark destroyed planet - I would probably just sit on my roof. It's gotta be great to see that, even if its over in a few seconds. Anyone ever see 'End Day' on Discovery or 'Last Night'?
