I have just studied about the white dwarf star and in the story plan to get massive amounts of oxygen and carbon, as well as helium and hydrogen for the creation of it. However I would like to know if I made this "proto" star and then abruptly took away the hydrogen from the core, would that result in a premature death, or progression, then if I where to take away the helium would it be able to become a white dwarf faster than normal?

I think a premature death would make for a short story, so I would say that there would be a gradual progression. Becoming a white dwarf faster than normal sounds exciting, so go with that! Good luck with the story!

If you took all that mass and fuel away, I suppose it could go white dwarf faster than normal, but if you take too much it may not have enough mass to even be a white dwarf, so be careful. It may become a brown dwarf or even a gas giant (planet)

star formation is speculation at best do as you will ( just read sci-fi from 20 years ago and you will see - by the time you publish the theories may have changed ) it seems the hard part will be figuring out how to remove the gases ( can't wait for this ) and exactly how long a time span does this story cover - this ain't a fast process ( got a few million years to spare ? ) oops now i'm using the 'science of the day '

How about you suspend the stars on the thick sheet of space and time where when a big object such as stars are just hol up by tiny particles and occupy a large sheet of space and time.
Then the occupied space and time would another parallel Universe where things are'nt same as it should be.
E= MC(2)= S+T ( Constant Velocity )
M/S= E + C(2)/ Time

Here are a couple of good links for you..I think the second would would be the better of the two.

As long as you have some 'scientist' in the story explain it, you can do anything you want. That's why it's called science FICTION.
