Everyone I know are so excited that Mars will be coming up very close to us again. Yes we all know it once hap pend in 2003. They didn't think it would happen again for another 60, 000 years, but it looks like it happening right now.
On the other hand when I asked the question of who was excited about it many people called me an idiot basically. What's going on? Mars is always close this time of year, but they say it's going to be so close it will be visible to the naked eye. Tennis ball size I hear.

To start, I do not believe our world is hollow. My question is is it possible according to science, to have a hollow planet where you have life living on the outside and inside, and where the center is an energy source such as a star. I am not talking about a Dyson sphere, which is artificial, I am talking about something like this occuring "naturally" in space.

I heard that mars is unusually close to earth this month, you're suppose to be able to see it in the east sky, and at the end of the month it's suppose to be as big as the moon. I haven't seen it, and I've beenlooking for it everynight, i have seen some "twinkling" stars that could be it, but there are more than one. has anyone seen it? or even know if its true that its close?

.....on the 27th of this month Earth will catch up with Mars, where Mars will be within approximately 35,000,000 of Earth and that on this day Mars will be easily spotted because it is claimed that it will be as large as the full moon? Or is it a hoax, because i'm sure there was a similar claim some few years ago and nothing happened. Anybody know?

Scientists are deciding soon whether Pluto should be downgraded from a planet as they have found some bigger lumps of rock/ice nearby, why not rename one of those as Pluto?

There is no real evidence of an ancient Martian civilization, but after rewatching a "Cosmos" episode in which Carl Sagan left the possibility open that there may be evidence of agricultural plains on the Mars surface dating back a billion or more years ago, I'm intrigued by the thought that the red planet could have at one time been an Earthlike world, with some form of intelligent life.

I'm asking two questions (please answer both or either):

a/ Sci-fi fantasies and wild speculations aside, how likely do you personally think it is that Mars at one time had flowing water and some type of intelligent life?

b/ According to Sagan, Earthlings may one day "terraform" Mars into a habitable place for human beings, which, he said, could take a thousand years or more. However unlikely it is, would you allow it's possible that the Earth underwent the same type of induced terraforming process millions of years ago?
