Astronomy is the mapping of what we can see.
Astrology is the study of how it affects us.

Well astrology did lead to astronomy. Early astronomers gave people their horoscopes. But today astronomers, who study the SCIENCE of astronomy do not deal with how the planets and stars supposedly affect people (which isn't true as far as I'm concerned, the math says otherwise). Rather in astronomy we apply physics, observation and geology to study objects in space.
