If the Moon run away from Earth: In order of events. (I guess)

1.Weather and tide paters would change dramatically.
2.The change in the gravitational forces would put earth out of orbit around the sun and around its axis... with cataclysmic results...
3.There would be heavy volcanic activity.
4.Earth as we know it will not exist any more.

How people manage to get things completely backwards is beyond me...

Tides WOULD be messed up, they would be minimal and so sea life would be greatly affected (as eventually all life would). Night would always be dark like at a new moon. Our spin isn't that off kilter from the moon so we might speed back up a bit but I'm not sure that that would have a huge effect, at least not as quickly as the tides would. The Earth wouldn't be torn apart either, it is it's own gravity that holds us together. I imagine the seas would cool a bit as well... hmm perhaps we should detroy our moon to combat global warming.

Finally since the moon was able to instantaneously move to the far side of the galaxy (behind the stars) this would change our definition of the speed of light, time travel... all physics really... and I'd have to go back to school... which of course would piss me off and that would make me quite irrate... leading to spankings and lashings for all who get in my way.

Nothing unusual would happen here on earth. In fact I've seen the moon vanish over the "Glactic" stars many times. If you meant "Galactic" stars, well then I still would have no idea what you meant, or why you would even ask such a question, or for that matter why I would bother to attempt to answer it.....

If something sucked the moon out of Earth's orbit, the earth would be pulled along (at least some) because of gravitational attraction. That'd mess up Earth's orbit around the sun. I wonder if it would affect the sun much?

think of the amount of energy this would all take, there would have to be peripheral effects from that, too.

Many scientists have actually thought about this. The tides would become very minimal. The nights would be unbearably dark. Animals would probably be freaked for some time. There is also evidence that even people's brains have a small part which is affected by the moons gravational pull and it affects our moods, although this is not a verified fact.

So, things would probably be messed up, but it probably wouldn't be doomsday either.

although i like the tides thing thats a myth truth fully the orbit of earth would be messed up and the temperatures would sky rocket and at night plument to an unbearable temp so think of a mars execept the erath would eventually get pulled into the suns gravitational pull because the moon is no longer orbiting keeping the earth from spiking in and out.

It wouldn't happened "suddenly" but it is happening slowly (read carefully: IT IS). Astrophysicist has been worried about this because the moon is very important to our axis of rotation. i don't understand how does it work, but if the earth loses its grip on the moon, the earth's axis will lose its stability. This will very much causes the climate and tides to run chaotic.

It would have to have already exploded since it's the earths gravitational pull that keeps the moon in its orbit. If the moon got sucked out into space the the earth would have had to have lost it's pull and we would be hit... one small step for maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnn

That would be cool to watch!
Then everyone would panick.
Then Earth may get thrown off a tad bit in it's orbit and maybe it's rotation.

We cannot see the moon.
The tides will be mixed up.
We cannot follow the Lunar calendar anymore.
Muslims cannot celebrate their New Year as they celebrate it accordinng to the moon phase.
