why if it's so cold is there no snow? I think it's good that it is so cold...it kills off nasty bugs and viruses... but the weather forecasters talk like it's a big surprise and there is something wrong with it. But where's the snow?

A proton is accelerated from rest through a potential difference of 25700 V

a) whats the kinetic energy of this proton in joules after this acceleration?

b) whats the speed of the proton after this acceleration?

ok once u find the E.P.E , which is E.P.E = V * q
but then what? AND WHY? IF Electrical Potential Energy= Kinetic Energy in this case , PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY.

I have to take the derivative twice. I got the 1st part which is this:

x/(x^2+1)^1/2

Now I have to take the derivative of that? How? I know the answer but dont know how to get it.

ALSO

The 1st AND 2nd derivative of this:

√r + 3√r

That one reads:

the square root of r plus the CUBE root of r. not the square root

Okay and this one I have no idea how to do, i did chain rule my answer is always wrong!!

y= (x+2)^8 (x+3)^6

thanks

Here is the answer to the 1st one:

1) 1/(x^2+1)^3/2

What is the purpose for each of the following reagents:
a) dishwashing detergent (detergents act as surfactants)
b) meat tenderizer (it contains a protease that affects chromosome structure)
c) freezing and crushing the strawberries (these steps are required to break a structure found only in plant cells; therefore, not required to extract DNA from animal cells)

Explain the function of DNAses in cells?

I am a second year chemical engineering major, and I find the major is so hard. I studied a lot more than my roommate, but my GPA is barely 3.0. My roommate's major is sociology. He doesn't study much, and his GPA is almost the same with mine.

I just finished Organic Chemistry final today. It was so hard, and I am just hoping to pass the class. =(

Will chemical engineering get easier in the junior and senior years?

I love natural, science and technology, I want to become a chemical engineer, but if it will get harder, I don't think I can take it anymore..

Hi, I'm trying to find the volume of the solid generated by revolving the area bound between the curves y= x^2, x=0, and y = x+2 (in the first quadrant only) about the line
x= -1.

I have difficulty determining the radius when the axis of rotation is something other than the x- or y-axis - it always flips me out.

Q: What would be the radius for this problem & how did you determine it?

I decided to use the Shell method
(V = 2(pi)rhw) for this problem and I THINK the height is (x+2 - x^2) with bounds from 0 to -1.

Please let me know how radius was determined & if I'm basically on the right track! Thanks!!!! :>)
