I am a second year chemical engineering major, and I find the major is so hard. I studied a lot more than my roommate, but my GPA is barely 3.0. My roommate's major is sociology. He doesn't study much, and his GPA is almost the same with mine.

I just finished Organic Chemistry final today. It was so hard, and I am just hoping to pass the class. =(

Will chemical engineering get easier in the junior and senior years?

I love natural, science and technology, I want to become a chemical engineer, but if it will get harder, I don't think I can take it anymore..

sorry to break it to you but no it will not get easier. I am a fouth year chemical engineer at the UC system in california. It got a lot harder the third year when you start to take upper division courses in chemical engineering. It takes a lot of work but the benifits are great though. If you want to do it just take smaller course loads, expect to graduate in 5 years instead of 4. And study, study.

I would say junior year is the hardest. It focuses on theory. Fourth year focuses on application and use of computer modeling. Both are hard though. They both take a lot of work.

And of course your roomate doesn't study much if you studied the way you do for chemical eng as in sociology you would have a 4.0.

I'm not really worrying about my gpa anymore just getting the degree right now is important.

Keep your eyes on the prize. Your roommate gots an equivalent GPA but will be earning less than you in the long run. By the time you graduate, the average salary is going to be 75-80 G per year. That is 2-2.5 times more than the average degree. I got my BS in Mech Engineering and it was a *****. Just never give up and give it time. Have healthy studying habits cause it will bite you in the @ss if you dont. as for your answer, the more you study the easier the classes get. After a while, it is the same material just mixed with other materials. ex...Chemistry+ Biology =Upperlevel course.

The only way a subject would get easier the further into it you get is if you started with the graduate courses and worked your way down to the introductory courses.

In other words, don't count on it.

Not realy, but you can go in a diffrent direction to your goal. When you are traveling, do you get to the destination right then. no!!! you have to go throu the process and find the lowest job and then get to your goal
