Just to make it easier to understand...
These are the points:
A (-2, 0)
B (0, 2)
C (2, 0)
D (0, -2)

And I thought the answer to this was 16,
But the correct answer is 8√2
And I don't understand why.

2.) cos B cot B = csc B - sin B

I did a lab experiment with an unknown solution. I noticed that my solution had a sweet scent and I noticed that the solution has a boiling point near the same boiling point as Toluene. I was wondering if Toluene has a sweet smell?

Dog breeds exist because humans basically forced them to evolve aka bred them. Now there are breeds that look VERY different from each other, yet they are still the same species. So how could the dog breeds evolve so much through the accelerated evolution that humans forced upon them but still all be the same species?

A sample of NiCl*H2O is found experimentally to contain 0.0116 moles of H2O, 0.0055 moles of Ni, and 0.00121 moles of Cl. What is the molecular formula of NiCl*H2O? How can I calculate it?

In the actual question, it says Ni(subscript x)Cl(subscript y) * zH2O, but i dont really think those are important. And does anyone know why they are there or why the z is infront of the water molecule and not a subscript?

Some ingredients break our skin out and I would like to know exactly what the heck it is before I purchase them. There are also generics on the market but none of the boxes tell exactly whats it is! Some just say latex free, some say natural rubber latex and so on. It's aggrivating....I can't find this information on Google, Yahoo etc. It seems almost top secret! If anyone can find links on the technical ingredients can they please post them so I can read about it. My family would appreciate it!

Is it the same as the adhesive used on bandaid bandages, I think it is different.

Pension fund investments

A pension fund has decided to invest $45,000 in the two high-yield stocks:

Duke Energy Corp with a share price of $14 and yield return of 8%.

Eastman Kodak with a share price of $30 and yield return of 6%.

This pension fund has decided to invest at least 25% of the $45,000 in each of the two stocks. Further, it has been decided that at most 63% of the $45,000 can be invested in either one of the stocks. How many shares of each stock should be purchased in order to maximize the annual yield, while meeting the stipulated requirements? what is the annual yield in dollars for the optimal investment plan?

I have two questions I'm absolutely stuck on. Any help would be much appreciated!!

1. Find the slope of the tangent line at the point P
y = a^2 / (a^2+x^2) .... P(a, 1/2)

and this next one is going to be challenging to type...

2. What is the value of:
