It would depend on what you may be taking it for. Tylenol helps with general aches and pain. Advil does as well but, it has an ingredient that Tylenol does NOT have. If there is any swelling or inflammation for whatever reason ( ie: injury, infection with swelling/inflammation) then Advil since it is an anti inflammatory. In addition, Advil lasts longer than Tylenol. If you take Advil, be sure to take it with a glass of milk or food because it can cause an upset stomach. Read the instructions on the bottle as to how often you can take it. I hope that this helps.

Both are good for pain/fever. However, advil also has anti-inflammatory effects....so advil would be better in certain situations say when you sprained your ankle and it's swollen. Advil also lasts longer (about 8hrs) vs tylenol which is only about 4-6hrs. To answer your question in general then advil is better.

Take into consideration that every individual is different so some people can not tolerate advil while others should not be taking tylenol.

Personally, I like advil. Works better (or in my case, at all) and it lasts longer. But I know people who only use Tylenol, because Advil doesn't work for them. I think it's a body chemistry thing. You have to try both.
My favorite combination? Two Advil and a Naproxen.
If you have a severe fever? Every three hours, one dose of advil, then three hours later, a dose of tylenol. They are different types of drugs, so it reduces the risk of Overdosing on either one. Plus it works great.

It doesn't really make a difference. Depends on how many milligrams it is each pill. (My mom is a doctor). Don't listen to everyone saying Advil, because Tylenol was created first. Get the REAL medical advice.

Neither, and both. Every drug reacts to each body differently, which is why there is more than one drug for any particular problem. You will need to try one, then the other and compare results empirically. For muscle aches, my body reacts better to Ibuprofen. For non specific headache, acetaminophen works only 50% of the time for me. Most drugs only work for about 10 - 15% of the general population.

Advil is way more affective, your pain disappears.

Advil is stronger so I would go with it.

I find that Tylenol works better for me. It really depends on your body and what it responds to best. The best way to know for you in particular is just to try them on seperate occassions and see.
