I've asked a similar question on Answers before, but it is still bothering me. Apparently we humans have a reptilian brain at the core, overlaid with a mammalian brain, on top of which is the neo cortex which is concerned with higher levels of thinking and consciousness. Assuming that we have these diverse elements in our brain as a result of evolution, how can a reptile evolve into a mammal? The reptile method of reproducing is by laying eggs which hatch outside the parent's body. Obviously as mammals we give birth to live young which we suckle. How can we evolve from one method of reproduction to the other by small incremental steps as the theory of evolution claims? Anything in between would not be viable as a way of creating the next generation, which would not survive and hence not breed. It offends my sense of logic, could someone please explain?

Well... stars and planets make up a galaxy... but then some scientists think that all the galaxies are just scattered around every where... how do we know that millions of galaxies, could make up one super galaxay? and then millions of those could form an even bigger galaxies... so yeah basically... how do we know that galaxies don't cluster together like stars and planets to make a bigger (MASSIVER) galaxy?

I keep telling people that chances are that I will live forever and they think I'm crazy. Why do I think that I have a good chance of living forever? Well I'm 30 years old and by the time I'm 50 I believe that medicine and technology will be so advanced that by then there will be cures for many things. By 2030 there will be no such thing as death from disease...that's right.. no death from disease!!...That's how advanced we will be. By 2050 I predict that they will figure out a way to save our entire memory to a computer hard drive in case our body dies. Then as they perfect cloning techniques they will grow a new body in a lab and then implant that memory to the new body. Call me crazy, but I'm a futurist and I know I'm not the only one who is optimistic about the technological achievements that await us!

Why not just use 240V? It seems simpler to have three evenly powered phases any of which can be paired with any other resulting in 240V power. Do certain applications require 208V? How do you know which type of service you have in your home?

I understand more or less HOW it is made (i.e. the high leg in the three-phase system - it just seems strange to have this odd leg - it seems like it would throw off the symetry of the 3-phase "braid."

also what would happen if the delta leg were paired witha regular 120 leg by accident?
