Volcanoes definitely affect the weather. Anything that injects matter into the air (such as a volcanic eruption, industry, pollution, etc.) affects the composition of the air. This in turn affects the temperature from radiation effects. The temperature change would change pressure, density, weather systems, etc. It only takes a small perturbation to make a drastic effect on the atmosphere because it is non-linear...basically a small change can turn into a large one.
Temperature records show that the earth experienced two cooler than average years after the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo. The ash, etc. that was put into the atmosphere spread around the world and less radiation reached the surface, thus the atmosphere lost heat.
They also affect the weather just by virtue of being mountains. The atmosphere interacts with the terrain resulting in orographic rain (from the forced rising of the air) and other mountain effects.

That has alot a differnt factors involved the that depend onwhat kind of volcano has erupted and what exactly is comming out form the emmision form, the, eruption, Volcanoes like Mt St. hellens willemite clouds of ash more than lava. One Volcanoe in that had eruped in the 1800's did have aneffect on a slight climate dropthat was record on the us easter seaboard.by releasing lage amout of ash and co2 the loave emiting volcanoes would have little effect the climate.

Active volcanoes certainly effect weather in the vicinity, and a massive eruption can effect weather at great distances.

Volcanoes do have impact on the weather all around the world, what affects one area, will eventually affect the climate elsewhere.
