Is the only way to try the medicine out? How about if something really terrible happens?

Look for the ingredients in the medicine. If you are allergic to any of them, may be you are allergic to the combination too.

Take 1/2 or 1/4th or still less of the recommended dosage. Normally the intensity of the allergic reaction is proportional to the quantity ingested. And be ready to seek medical attention if needed.

Look at the website of the manufacturer for any caution or advisory posted.

difficult to answer... the safe way is to try out all the medicine. allergic can occur in many ways. different body give different reaction. some people may having problems of allergic to all things but some may not. consult doctor for more information

Rub it on you, then you`ll be able to tell if your skin is allergic to it. Otherwise you`ll need to the doctor and get your antibodies tested! :D

Edit : By otherwise, I mean internally, and by antibody test, I mean you get needles in you (or so mine was done)
