Ok how do u show the equation x^3-cos^2x=0 has the root in [0,2]??????

and given that f(x)=x^4-x^2+5x+2, show that there exists at least two real numbers x such that f(x)=3.

ATP has 3 phosphates (correct me if i'm wrong), for an endergonic reaction to occur (usually related to proteins, yeah?) the ATP loses a phosphate and becomes ADP. The phosphate bonds with the protein and gives it energy for it to "work". After the protein did what it had to do, the phosphate breaks away from the protein. Where does this phosphate go? Does it go back to an ADP and bond with it again? Wouldn't that require a lot of energy as well (cause I thought the energy is already used up by the protein)? My textbook says it's a cycle where ATP --> ADP and ADP --> ATP, but how does that even work?

oh and, correct me if i said anything wrong or confusing, thanks

Hey just a little complex number job I'm stuck on:

By putting z in the form x + iy and using l z l (modulus) = square root(x^2 + y^2), Find the cartesian equation of the region defined by:

(modulus) l z - (2 + 3i) l = 4

I'm stuck on a question about induction:

Can you prove by 'strong' induction that for every integer n > 2 either n or (n -1) is a sum of distinct primes.

I think it might be to do with the fact that for every integer n > 3, there is a prime p such that n/2 < p < n.

Am I along the right lines/?

I'm interested to know peoples' opinions of the possibility of genetic modification of fertilised human eggs to remove genetic defects and such. (this is assuming that one day we have the technology to modify it and know the outcome)

Would you have issues with this if it became common practice?

My opinion (please don't see this as answering my own question, this is merely an opinion) is that since mankind is no longer truly effected by natural selection, it should be our responsibility to effectively move the species forward - removing hereditary diseases and conditions from the genome and such.

Your thoughts?

Three 45g ice cubes at 0C are dropped into 5x10^2 mL of tea to make ice tea. The tea was initially at 20C; when thermal equilibrium was reached, the final temperature was 0C.

How much of the ice melted and how much remained floating in the beverage?
Assume the specific heat capacity of tea is the same as that of pure water

2. why negative charge moves from lower voltage to higher voltage?
3. if one positive charge of 1 coulomb spontaneseously moves between point 100 volt and 150 volt, it converts some of the energy it has into energy of motion, how much energy would this charge convert to energy of motion?
4. 12 volts with 2 amperes and a circuit of 12 volt with 5 amperes, which has higher electrical resistance? why? (i answer the 2 amperes with higher resistance between with resistance, that's why it is lower or else with lower resistance, it would be 5 amperes)

You should use care when dissolving H2SO4 in water because the process is highly exothermic. To measure the enthalphy change, 5.2g H2SO4 (l) was added (with stirring) to 135g of water in a coffee-cup calorimeter. This resulted in an increase in temperature from 20.2 degrees C to 28.8 C.

Calculate the enthalphy change for the process
H2SO4(l) -> H2SO4(aq), in kJ.mol.

34,240mgs of acetaminpehn(tylenol) + 8.75mg of chlorpheninamine maleate(sometime in a flu medicine) + 60mg of dextromethorpahn HBr(sometime else in flu medicine) + 125mg of diphenhydramin HCI + a 355ml bottle of 3.2% alcohal. I'm doing a report on this guy who died while he was high. This part is just telling about how this alone would have killed him, and how not using drugs could have saved him from this.
