The possible reasons are:

1. Supply Voltage is less than normal.

2. Overload condition.

3. If it has a capacitor, then it gets weak.

4. Winding weak.

It might be too low a horsepower for the load. It might be driving something that is jamming up mechanically. The incoming electric power might have dipped.
